Stress Free Moving: The Holy Grail of moving from one home to another!
Stress Free Moving: The Holy Grail of moving from one home to another…
This sounds like such a great idea, needless to say you can plan and try to execute your plan to the best of your abilities, but there are always some unexpected surprises. The movers were a major and critical key to a smoothly moving operation. We did some good pre-planning, pre-packing, organizing for the move. Not wanting to over emphasize the fact, that if everything is packed the movers have it easier. Needless to say running a business from my home required that, the Internet, the Fax machine, the Printer, the Scanner and all other equipment needed to be functioning until the morning of the movers arrival. This is critical when you have ten (10) listings and are working with three (3) serious buyers and have a property in Escrow where the seller is in China and the buyer is in Los Angeles. There is no room for a gap in the communication due to time zone differences and dealing with the local person on local time as well. Needless to say I am thrilled that the move went smoothly.
Keep in mind having three cats adds another challenge into the moving equation Jill was supervising the movers NOT!
We had six skilled professionals and two trucks. This might sound like a lot, but the benefits were numerous. For starters it was a less expensive move in the long run, because they moved faster and there were fewer delays. The movers knew where everything was and they were able to efficiently upload and unload all our belongings.
Not only did they move everything with care and consideration, but they also moved our belongings to the new home without damaging anything. I am referring to the newly painted walls, the hardwood floors, clearly nothing got damaged. One small nick on a tight hallway wall, thanks to a huge Cherry Wood Desk from my father, which the painter will spot paint as soon as we are settled in.
So what was the unexpected surprise? Well we were the ones who held up the movers, because we misplaced the documents where all the heavy furniture should be located. Hence we had to go by memory where everything was going to be placed. Clearly this had a small delay as Diane and I tried to recall where everything was to go. Needless to say next time we will both have the documents with us either on our smart phones or the printed hard copy. Now keep in mind we are not into frequent moving, generally it takes us about eight years before it is timeJ. So with that said, I would like to Recommend, Endorse and Praise our movers.
